Family visits Phoenix

My Grandparents and Aunt and Uncle from Michigan and my parents from Nebraska decided to come to Phoenix for a little visit. The weather was much better here than it was where they came from. Although it was cooler here for us than normal. We kept ourselves busy by doing what my family does best...playing poker! My moms side of the family also has some cousins here in town so we went over to their house for dinner and a game of poker that started out by everyone putting in a quarter. By the end of the night we had a $600 pot! I told Chad he better be able to win with out a doubt if he was going to go in on that hand. I think we broke even in then end, but at least we didn't lose big time like others did.

They were able to see some hot spots around town. Gainey Ranch Resort, Old town Scottsdale,Lake Pleasant and how could we forget the CASINO. We ate at Sapporo's in Kierlands, where they cook and entertain you throughout the whole dinner. Very fun!! In Old town we had to take them to one of our favorite places, Los Olivos.

One of the highlights of this trip was grandma teaching me how to make tortillas. So I watched her add all the ingredients...looks easy. They turned out AWESOME of course! So when she left I tried to make some myself. I added all the ingredients just like she did. And would you know it...they crumbled right before my eyes. She doesn't measure. I needed exact measurements. When I got a recipe like hers I started making them allot. They were good, but not as good as Granny's.

One of the main reasons for this visit was for Grandpa's 80th Birthday. Happy Birthday!!! We had a yummy ice cream cake, played more cards, games, and Foosball.

Welcome to my Blog

I am so excited to start this blog. I think it will be a great way to keep friends and family posted on our busy lives since I am really bad about getting emails or pictures out. I will try to update as much as I can. I am learning as I go. I am sure I will be doing allot of rambling...sorry
A few things to start out... I am terrible at writing and I don't have a lot of experience when it comes to blogging. I write down what I am thinking as I am thinking, not reading what I am writing. That may bother some of you grammar people. That was not my favorite subject in school. My husband has to correct me all the time! He is the creative one when it comes to writing. So until next time...
